This Swing is a 1980s bottling of this then popular JW range note that they came with pressed metal labelling and ornate screw top enclosure. The Swing bottle design was first produced in the early 1940s to service the passenger shipping industry as this was the common form of international travel before commercial air flights. The bottle was designed to rock back and forth without falling of the bars and tables in heavy seas. Quite ingenious at the time. The blend is of a sweeter style of Whisky to suit the American palate leaning towards the Bourbon styles of that demographic. It is still very popular today.
Swing was sold at a price point to meet the desired consumer markets and therefore was not seen as collectable expression at the time. Fast forward 30 years are now increasingly difficult to find and make a nice addition to any collection. It was also produced in 3 quality levels
Celebrity Swing – High end
Superior Swing – Mid range
Swing – Entry level
